It is recommended that both parents attend the initial visit so they can consent to the minor's treatment.
For psychological services, patients aged 13 and older can receive evaluations and limited therapy without parental authorization. For other services, parental consent is required.
Any minor will be evaluated with one custodian, either the mother or father. If one parent is not present, the family will be guided on obtaining the necessary custody or guardianship documents.
Multiple appointments can be scheduled on the same day based on the patient’s need, although it is not recommended as a regular practice.
It is preferable for the patient to attend the appointment alone, as the presence of a minor may hinder the proper development of therapy or intervention.
We take a holistic approach to treatment, addressing social, physical, psychological, and medical aspects. Therefore, the initial evaluation is done by a team that includes psychologists, social workers, nurses, and general practitioners before referring to a psychiatrist if necessary.
